LLM Master of Laws (Dissertation)

If you are a recognized legal professional, or have passed the Graduate Diploma in Law, the Legal Practice Course, the Bar Vocational Course or the Bar Professional Training Course, of if you are an Advocate- this course will enable you to obtain a masters by writing a dissertation on a specific area of law. This course will improve your employability prospects in a competitive legal world. It will give you the expertise to move into specialized areas such as employment law or international law. Many law firms and barristers’ chambers recognize the LLM as advanced training and will favor candidates with this qualification. If you aspire to work in legal education, an LLM is often required to be considered for a lecturer position.
Training in research methods is provided and you will be in regular contact with your dissertation supervisor. If you aspire to a career teaching law or want to work in a specialized area of law or business this course will help you gain the relevant expertise.

Entry requirements
A postgraduate diploma in a legal subject or a qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales or a qualification as a lawyer in a jurisdiction recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority ( Advocate, Bangladesh Bar Council) .
Overall workload
Each module on our distance learning courses is individually designed to maximize your learning so study requirements will vary. As a guideline you will need to allocate around 10 hours per week to complete each module plus a further five hours for additional reading and assignments. These 10 hours of teaching and learning will be delivered using a range of interactive resources, this typically includes audio and video content, group discussions, reflective exercises, quizzes, online reading and much more. All these resources are delivered through our Virtual Learning Environment and can be accessed at a time and place that suits you
The VLE gives you access to course materials such as videos, e-books and other documents. You also use it to submit your assignments and to receive feedback.
